‘1000-Ib. Sisters’ Star Tammy Slaton Breaks Down in Tears as She Opens Up about Husband’s Death

Tammy Slaton has found herself overcome with tears after bravely opening up about the heartbreaking loss of her beloved husband, Caleb Willingham.

In a devastating announcement, the star of the hit show “1000-Lb. Sisters” shared the tragic news of Caleb’s passing at the age of 40, as confirmed by People. Tammy, 36, expressed her deep sorrow in a statement, saying, “I am devastated to share the news of my husband’s passing. He was my best friend, and I loved him dearly. When I met Caleb, he became my guardian angel, and now he truly watches over me. Our families are grateful for everyone’s sympathy and request privacy during this difficult time.”

TLC, the network that airs the show, also extended their condolences, stating, “We are deeply saddened to learn of Caleb Willingham’s passing. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Tammy, his family, and friends during this challenging time.”

Tammy turned to her Instagram page on Sunday (July 2) to pay tribute to Caleb, sharing several nostalgic photos of the couple and expressing her profound grief and loss from this unexpected tragedy.

“Rip sweet angel, you will forever be missed and loved so much. Thank you, Caleb, for showing me what real love and happiness are,” she poignantly wrote.

The reality TV star also shared a heart-wrenching video on TikTok, visibly overwhelmed with tears. Tammy admitted, “I hate coming on here and letting everyone see me like this,” as she wiped away her sorrow.

Opening up about her immense grief, she continued, “Yes, we had our problems, but I loved that man, and I still do. I miss him like crazy, but I want to thank everybody for their comments. I appreciate it, I really do.”

Tammy chose not to delve into the specifics of the situation, stating that it’s deeply personal, and added, “I know that he’s watching over me. He’s no longer in pain. I believe he’s in a better place. Once again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and believe it or not, he truly loved all of you too.” She concluded her heartfelt message by blowing a kiss to the camera and captioning it, “I’m sorry I’m crying, but just because I’m crying doesn’t mean I’m not strong. I’ve got this. #familystrongforcaleb.”

The love story of Tammy and Caleb began in 2022 at the Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio. After getting engaged in October, they tied the knot just a month later, in November.

“Up until now, you all knew me as Tammy Slaton, but from now on, you’ll all know me as Mrs. Tammy Willingham,” announced Tammy, as reported by People. “I’m married now!” The intimate wedding ceremony took place at the rehabilitation center, with only 30 close friends and family members in attendance. The ceremony was officiated by their home care nurse and cherished family friend, Billy.

Reflecting on their special day, Tammy shared her enchantment, saying, “As I saw Caleb waiting at the altar, I envisioned doves and butterflies surrounding us, as if God had opened the clouds and let the sunlight in. It was magical.” Caleb echoed her sentiments, expressing, “When I finally saw her, my heart exploded.”

Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Caleb Willingham during this profoundly difficult time.
