Chris Rock received a standing ovation from his first show back after he was slapped in the face by Will Smith at the Oscars.

Smith very publicly slapped Rock at the Academy Awards on Sunday evening, after the comedian compared Will’s Wife, Jada Pinkett Smith to G.I Jane, which was highly inappropriate and insensitive as Jada has been very open about her hair loss journey due to alopecia.

Just days after the infamous slap, Rock returned to the stage for a stand-up show at The Wilbur Theatre in Boston, where he was greeted by a standing ovation which lasted 4 to 5 minutes, according to reports.

The 57-year-old spoke briefly about the attack but went on to say he wasn’t ready to fully talk about it yet, and that he would be soon but that he was still processing it all.

The sold out audience were then treated to his usual excellent stand-up with material ranging from vasectomy jokes to Robert de Niro being an OAP Dad.

Rock’s Ego Death World Tour has seen a major spike in sales after the incident on Sunday evening.

At least one good thing has come out of this for Chris…
