Chris Rock has made a dig at his stand-up gig on Friday, joking that his hearing has returned since being slapped at the Oscars by Will Smith.
The comedian made only one reference to the now infamous slap at the Fantasy Springs Resort in California – one of his first appearances since the Academy Awards happened two weeks ago.
The 57-year-old joked:
“I’m OK, I have a whole show and I’m not talking about that until I get paid. Life is good. I got my hearing back.”
This is not the first time Rock has briefly mentioned the event – he touched on it at the start of his first stand-up show after the Oscars.
After slapping the comedian in front of millions of eyes, Will Smith fears he’s in the process of being “fully canceled”.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the iconic actor’s upcoming Netflix film Fast and Loose has reportedly slowed down production.
The publication also reported that Smith was given the first 40 pages or so of Bad Boys 4 but the production has also been slowed for the time being.
The actor allegedly tried to justify his reaction to Rock by explaining why Rock’s joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head cause such a severe response – Jada has been open about her struggles with hair loss caused by alopecia.
Hey – at least Chris Rock is making light of it now, right??
