The rivalry between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg continues to intensify as Zuckerberg’s new Twitter-like app nears its launch date.

This ongoing feud between the two tech titans is further fueled by Musk’s apparent dissatisfaction with the competition posed by Meta’s upcoming service, called ‘Threads,’ which is touted as the “new” Twitter under Zuckerberg’s leadership.

When Musk first learned about Zuckerberg’s new venture last month, he playfully expressed his willingness to engage in a battle with the Facebook CEO. Now, negotiations are in full swing as they prepare for a potential showdown.

The story comes full circle with the recent revelation of Threads’ expected launch date, slated for July 7.

Users can already pre-order the app on Apple’s app store, where more information about the data it will gather from users has also been provided.

Musk couldn’t resist making a jab at this aspect on Monday, commenting, “Thank goodness they’re so sanely run.” This remark carries significance.

Reports indicate that a Meta executive recently assured employees that Threads would be “sanely run” in comparison to Musk’s often unpredictable behavior on Twitter.

However, it appears that Musk is skeptical about the extensive user data that Threads will collect in order to maintain such control.

It’s not surprising that Musk may be feeling a bit concerned about this new competitor entering the market, especially considering the backlash he received for his controversial decision to limit Twitter users’ daily tweet count, which restricted access to new content. Although he has since increased the limit after facing significant backlash over the weekend, users are still dissatisfied and actively seeking alternative platforms for their news consumption.

Ultimately, Musk’s own actions may have contributed to the desire for an alternative, but the impending launch of Threads provides him with even more motivation to express his frustration with Zuckerberg. As we previously reported, negotiations between the two parties are currently underway behind the scenes.

The ongoing rivalry between Musk and Zuckerberg continues to captivate the tech world, with observers eagerly awaiting the outcome of their clash. Whether it will be a friendly competition or a full-blown showdown remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: these two influential figures are determined to outdo each other in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
