Grammys Viewers in Uproar as Louis CK Wins Best Comedy Album

Grammys viewers are in an uproar as Louis CK won Best Comedy Album at this year’s awards.

The comedian was disgraced in 2017 after admitting to sexual misconduct.

The 54-year-old was a controversial nominee for the award for Best Comedy Album and viewers were completely astonished by the fact the comedian won the prize.

CK stopped performing in 2017, temporarily, after he was accused of multiple occasions of sexual misconduct. He later admitted to his wrongdoing, which involved exposing himself and masturbating in front of many female comedians and writers, releasing a statement at the time:

“These stories are true”,

“I’ve brought pain to my family, my friends, my children and their mother.”

“The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly,”

In response to the comedian winning the Grammy, journalist David M Perry tweeted:

“Louis CK, who masturbated in front of women without consent, then had their careers derailed, just won Best Comedy Album at the Grammys,”

“We are nowhere close to a reckoning on sexual misconduct, even just in the narrow slice of professional contexts.”

Do you think it’s right that we judge the work presented for the award and not the history and criminal convictions of the artist?
