Johnny Depp Shares Bizarre Rules Amber Heard Made him Follow

Johnny Depp has let the court in on the bizarre rules that Amber Heard made him follow through the course of their tumultuous relationship.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor launched a defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard in 2019, after the Aquaman star described herself as a victim of domestic abuse in a 2018 article she penned in The Washington Post. The trial started Monday 11 April in Fairfax, Virginia.

Depp took to the stand to attempt to clear his name against Heard’s accusations that he was a domestic abuser.

The actor was asked what the couple’s relationship was like at the start, which led him to mention some bizarre rules that he had to follow in the relationship.

Depp said he worked a lot, and when he returned to the home/hotel where they were staying after work, Heard would:

“she would sit me down on the couch and give me a glass of wine and…take my boots off. i’d never experienced anything like that…in my life”

“It became a regular thing…kind of routine. one night i came home from work and…i think she was on the phone or something…so i sat down on the couch and took my boots off…Ms. Heard approached with this look on her face…she said “what did you just do?”…”you took your boots off?” “no no no that’s my job.”

“i did take pause of course the fact that she was visibly shaken or upset that i had…i had broken her rules of routine.”

Depp continued that once he noticed one thing, he started to notice other things she did, like trying to control that the 58-year-old come to bed at the same time as her.
