President Zelensky Praises Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher for $35 Million Ukraine Appeal

President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with the Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher via video call and praised them for raising almost 35 million US dollars for Ukraine.

The couple had previously shared a video announcing that they had raised over $18 million in donations for the people of Ukraine.

The Ukraine-born actress posted on her instagram that she was raising money with her famous husband for refugees fleeing the war-torn country.

The couple posted a GoFundme explaining that all donations were going to provide “immediate support” for those impacted, and that she and Ashton would match up to $3 million.

The celebrity couple have since posted an update:

Kunis said:

“we just want to say that we hit our goal”

With Kutcher adding:

“over 30 million dollars raised”

On Sunday, the Ukrainian President posted a photo on his Twitter account taken during a video call the the pair.

He ended his post with:

‘They inspire the world.’

The couple had been raising money on GoFundme.org  and commited to matching donations made to the rental company Airbnb and freight transporter Flexport for up to $3,000,000. The CEO of Airbnb, Brian Chesky, and the creator of Flexport, Ryan Petersen said: 

“WE’VE PARTNERED WITH THE UNITED NATIONS, UNICEF, PROJECT HOPE….MAKE SURE THAT EVERY SINGLE ITEM IS DELIVERED DIRECTLY TO PEOPLE IN NEED.”

“WE HAVE MADE A COMMITMENT TO WORK WITH OUR HOST AT AIRBNB.ORG TO PROVIDE HOUSING FOR UP TO 100,000 REFUGES.”

Fellow celebs have also donated to help the cause.
