TV Editor Interrupts Russian State Broadcast Holding Sign: ‘They are Lying to You Here’

President Zelensky has praised a Russian TV editor for ‘telling the truth’ after she was arrested for protesting live on air, against Putin’s war, holding a sign.

A Russian woman ran onto live state TV news holding a sign in protest of the Ukraine war. Marina Ovsyannikova, the woman in question, is an editor on the Russian TV channel Pervyi Kanal.

The brave woman held up a sign that said:

‘no to war. stop the war. don’t believe propaganda. they lie to you here. russians against war’

Ovsyannikova called out before the cameras cut away:

“stop the war, no to war”

She was arrested by police after her protest in the studios in Ostankino, Moscow, and hasn’t been seen for 12 hours since her arrest.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has since personally thanked her in a Telegram video that was uploaded on Tuesday. He said he was ‘grateful’ to all Russians who ‘are not afraid to protest’ and ‘tell the truth’ about the invasion of Ukraine.

The brave protestor could now be jailed for up to 15 years.

What a brave woman.
